John Tenuta - He's been a great DC for us and it will be hard to retain him if we don't go with him as our new HC.
Paul Johnson - He's been doing an amazing job at Navy for the small pickings they have in talent. The only problem is he's on everyone radar so he may be difficult to get.
June Jones - He did coach in Atlanta in the past, but would you really leave Hawaii for a coaching job at GT? The GT fans that suggest him need to think about that.
Ron Zook - I'd be surprised if he wanted to leave his current situation unless it was to a consistent top 25 program, but if we could get and keep him we could see pretty immediate results. He may want to hang around until he can get back to a bigger program.
Chris Hatcher - He has vastly improved Georgia Southern since they came off a 3-8 season in 2006. We may have to go after a new and upcoming coach and he would make a great candidate.
Jim Leavitt - He's done some good things with the USF program from scratch. He is from the Tampa area, so he probably wouldn't want to leave this program and if he did it probably would only be for a big time program.
George O'Leary - I probably shouldn't even mention him since so many GT fans have a bad taste, but it's been 6 years since resume-gate and he's done a lot with not much at UCF. Ohh and the important thing - we know he can beat UGA from time to time. Do you really penalize him for going after his dream?
Gary Patterson - TCU has been surprising lately because of this man. Minnesota tried unsuccessfully to get him to leave Texas so this probably isn't even possible, but he's a viable candidate.
Jimbo Fisher - His stock at FSU was high before the season started based on his past experience, but now some people are questioning that. I've heard he's looking to become a HC somewhere so we should keep him open as an option depending on how his season turns out. He does have a working background with DRad, so I could see this being a very viable candidate.
Larry Coker - He would be a great candidate, although some people are unsure of him because of some of the problems he ran into with keeping his team in line. He knows the ACC, is a great recruiter, and I think he would have a better situation at GT.
Chris Petersen - He just renewed his contract with Boise State, but he has done a good job so far maintaining the winning program he was given.. Some are unsure he wants to leave, but I'm sure for the right dollar amount he might consider it, but his buyout might be large. I don't think we could land him unless we offered him lots of money. It's not really that much of an upgrade from where he is now.
Jerry Moore - He had a big victory earlier this year over a Michigan team that was supposed to have a big year. He runs a nice spread offense which utilizes a mobile QB very well. Picking a coach who has won at lower levels or conferences is a proven way to succeed. Look at Jim Tressel at Ohio State - He won championships at Youngstown State and his methods have translated big time to the Div I level. Same can be said for Urban Meyer. He was successful at turning around Bowling Green and then Utah before winning a national championship with Florida (Although not with his recruits). Our only question about Jerry is why has he been at Appalachian State for 18 years? Does he not want to leave or is there something else missing?
