Message: Georgia bullfrog fans defend Gayly because they were on-ly too happy that he was the Tech coach for 6 very mediocre
seasons. Jim Donnan had a 40-19 record at UGA, much better
than Chan the Sham's 44-32, never lost a bowl game, and they
fired him unceremoniously after FIVE seasons.
Love Paul Johnson: 43-19 at Navy the last 5 yrs. He has
had a different starting QB for each of 4 consecutive bowls.
That denotes a system that works!

Message: Maybe you need to grasp a word called CHANGE.

Tech culture is changing just like everything else in the world. If GT football ever wants another chance at a national championship or more than the occasional ACC championship you can't accept mediocre coaching.

Our program needs a little kickstart to get people into the game again. It was very obvious if you left your tickle pile and talked to fellow Tech fans.

I would glady trade a couple of .500 or sub .500 seasons for a little excitement and oppurtunity to take the program to the next level. I believe a good majority of GT fans would agree with me on that one.

Message: Remember. You UGA fans love Mark Richt. He has a 71-and-goddamn-19 ranking in 7 years at UGA. Saying that Tech "just fired a good coach" is completely idiotic, because he has a 44-32 record. That's getting mighty close to half as many wins and twice as many losses. Would you be saying "Mark Richt is a good coach" if he had a 44-32 record last year after his 6th season? No. You'd be saying "Mark who?" because he'd have been fired after the 2nd barely winning season. Good move, Radakovich.

Message: I'm a Tech fan but...
What's wrong and why I think so many fans are wHining (RD) is that he is not a good fit for Tech. Football is entertainment, I could spend my money towards season tickets, but I expect some ROI (google it UGAg fans) on my money. No that doesn’t mean we have to win every game or beat U(sic)GA every year [even though it would be sweet], but make the games entertaining. Mark Richt is a great example; this year the FL and Auburn games were exciting. Yes, they looked like patsies against TN and SC and almost losing to Vandy again, but they keep getting better and it's exciting to watch a game. Go to one of Chan’s games, they are boring.

Now, I am left with a mediocre season and thousands of other things to do in Atlanta. Hmmm. Does this make me a fair weather fan, hell no, I will cheer the Jackets and curse the puppies till my death, but if I am constantly disappointed and my ROI is not positive then it’s time for change or Tech is not getting my investment. Having one bad "rebuilding" year is fine, but ever since he started it's been a "rebuilding" year after year. Here is what I want: make a few upsets, beat U(sic)GA 1/3, FINISH top 25, and WIN the ACC title every 4-6 years. I feel these are reasonable goals for Tech. Chan I wish you the best in the future and hope you find the right fit for you.

Message: Ugh, how painful it was to sit (or more accurately stand) in the cold stadium on Saturday and hope for something big out of Tech. Man we were fired up when Choice and Peek got their TD's, but it got progressively colder as we lost big fumbles and got a bogus interference call against us. We've got so much young talent that I can understand some of the mistakes, but we've been watching for a fired-up Taylor Bennett to come out shooting, and shooting accurately, but it hasn't happened yet this season. The future looks bright with Nesbitt, Dwyer, Burnett and so many others who really want to win games - perhaps it's time to clean house with more than Gailey...maybe John Bond wasn't the right guy? Does Radakovich get Gailey fired up so he can pass that fire on to the team? Did Tenuta stop and think on Saturday "Ok, we cannot sack Stafford, so maybe our d-backs can start watching the ball when he passes it to these little freshmen receivers? Gailey is a good man, so is Richt - I'm wondering if there aren't more young coaches who would love to come in and get Tech to consistent 8+ win seasons...

Now the bad: NEVER beat Georgia, does not build players, major beat downs when on national tv. Last year we had the best player in the nation, Calvin Johnson, are D was at the top and we didnt win anything, not even a BCS bowl. Even when I try to find something good with Chan the bad out weighs everything. Yes, we have some young talent but it starts with coaching and thats where we lack. The offense and defense all pull from the same talent pool so that tired old argument of "we can't compete with UGA recruiting" just doesn't hold water. Our defense led the NCAA in sacks. The problem is that they can't play the entire game. Our game plan for offense has always been unimaginative and predictable. We had talent, Tashard Choice will most likely be playing on Sunday. Message: It's not about if it's a lateral move in quality of the schools. We aren't disputing that.

It's about is it a lateral coaching move - does he gain anything from it? He has no ties to the school and he gets paid enough to hold out for a better program.. That's the point.

Furthermore our list is compiled from names we've heard tossed around and is just our opinions if they would be viable candidates and/or even willing to come to GT. Some people are very unrealistic. There are a few we haven't added to the list that we've heard like Bill Cowher. That one was just too far out there for example.

As far as Paul Johnson - we would love to have him as well, we think he could do great stuff with Nesbitt, however there are a lot of openings so we doubt that there wouldn't be a better opening for him.

And to Trey, we've heard Paul is on the hot seat too. Chan only has the record he has in the ACC because of how lacking the ACC has become in the past few years! It's not because he's done everything right. A lot of why he should go is because of the losses he has had that he shouldn't and how bad he's made the program look in certain situations where even if we lost it should have been a closer game.

Message: I was at the game this past weekend, and it was pretty embarrassing. Did we even practice for the UNC? Opening drive had a sack, short pass, another sack, and then a punt. And then 4 fumbles! The only reason we won was because UNC's coach was worse than ours with his lousy clock management.

Looks like we're headed to another 7-5 season. Not sure if we'll even be invited to the Humanitarian Bowl or the Emerald Nuts Bowl.

The sad thing is that a 7-win season gives some folks the false hope that we have some potential with the current cast. While 7-5 might be decent in a BCS conference, it's pretty pathetic considering that 5 of those 7 wins were against Notre Dame, Samford, Army, Duke, and UNC.

I'm nervously wondering what Chan's chat with Dan Radakovich next Tuesday has in store for the program... I'm sure a lot of season ticket renewals are depending on it.

Though he sometimes pulls an upset out of his you-know-what, he loses WAY too many games he should win. And losing to UGA five years in a row is inexcusable. I ended up at Georgia Southern and love my school but I am a Tech fan at heart. I was wondering if they thought of Chris Hatcher as a head coach. He has only been at GSU for a year but his success is amazing. He took a 3-8 eagles team from last year (thanks to damn Brian Van Gonner) and has them contending for a conference title.

Until this season I thought Gailey was alright. I have seen terrible game planning and have been all around disappointed. I was telling people before the season started that I thought it was ridiculous we were unranked. A conference title game was a minimun for my expectations.
Thanks to our wonderful head coach, we might be lucky to make the toliet bowl. The only hope I have left for the season is the damn UGA game. Hopefully we will win. Go Jackets

What is it with GT always hiring these turd coaches. I could call plays better than this dumbass. Get him out of here. This is sickening. Hire a coach with a winning resume and get this loser out of here. Look at how Wake forest is 20x better than GT. And all we have to compete with is UGA for DIV a recruiting in this state. Look at Alabama--Bama, Alabama-Birm, Auburn, Troy. Louisiana-LSU, Tulane, La-monroe, La-lafayette. Mississippi-Ole miss, Mississippi, Southern Miss. Tennessee--UT, Vandy, Memphis, Middle Tenn. North carolina-Unc, Duke, Wake, NC State. Kentucky--Louisville, UK, Western Kentucky. You get the picture. One other school we have to compete with. And ga ranks much higher in population than the other states. Doubling most of them. Chan can't recruit this state for s*it. And he is the worst play caller I have ever seen. 2 passing td's all season. Hey, let's keep Taylor in the game. ROFL. Gawd, get rid of him pleeeeaaaase.

The blind loyalist to Chan have always been able to point to the occasional victory over Miami or Auburn as justification for patience. Last night's game may have been the last straw.

And BTW, special thanks to Dave Braine who hired this man under less than honest circumstances (giving the shaft to Mac MacWhorter, implying that he was still under consideration for the job). Not only has he wasted all these years with a poor hire, but he gives Chan a big, long-term contract on the way out the door.

He's an assistant coach for the Seattle Seahawks now, and he may want to come back to Atlanta for another head coaching opportunity. He's young, has the experience, and a chip on his shoulder and something to prove.

If not Mora, maybe we can trade Chan to UCF for O'Leary. Heck, we'll send Bennett along with him.

It's really sad when the best player on the team is the punter. Although it's not really fair because the punter is getting as much playing time as Bennett this season.

It seems to me if we can get several thousand names on there the athletic director may look at it a little more seriously. I haven't spoken to a GT fan in the last couple years that supports this coach, so it seems crazy nothing is being done to replace him. They have to make a change. Its different to have a team that competes and doesn't quite stack up. Its another story to not be in the game at all.

Dan Radakovich, let Chan go from his contract at the end of the season. IF not, I will not hold our coaches responsible. I will hold YOU responsible. I knew that any QB we had on the roster would have been less likely to misfire and lose the game than Reggie. Remember last year when NC had an awful team? They got killed the week before we played them and we went up there with a vastly superior team and had to win on defense 7-0 because Reggie was so incompetent. Chan stood there and watched him screw up and stuck with him. Even as a loyal Tech man all my life (and a grad) i had to shake my head in agreement when my UGA friends joked that the Dawgs should retire Reggie's jersey. Truly, they should have. I for one like Gailey, and want him to stay. He has done a fabulous job, and he is learning from his mistakes. He is becoming more and more of a college coach, and the results will follow in the years to come. His players would run into a wall for him, and they are staying out of trouble. He is building a program here; we just have to be patient.

However, this is a free country so if you want him fired, do it in a way that won't make us look horrible in front of the whole country and run off recruits. Send D-Rad emails everyday. Call him everyday. Put money down to buy out his contract, etc. Main thing, keep this garbage in-house.

Message: I am a first time visitor to this site and I am here because of the horrible unexplainable tragedy that happened this past weekend in Maryland. Soemthing has to be done. NOW!! I've given Chan too long to prove himself. If he is not fired I will be forced to turn off my TV on saturdays and on one thursday and do chores around the house. Thanks Chan for making me work. Thanks for taking away beer, football and pizza. Thanks for making Tech Football a disgrace and unwatchable. You sir are an a-hole!

Message: the worst offensive coach in college football for the last 6 years. What coach could put up with Reggie Ball for 4 years and not have a well developed replacement?
Gailey's skill at coaching quarterbacks is as bad as his offensive coaching skills. His play calling is of the neanderthal era...no self-respecting offensive coach could call such conservative plays.....3rd and 20 and yet another off tackle run...setting up a 52 yard field goal?

Just more of what we've seen....he is not and apparently cannot, not sure he even believes that is it his job to motivate his players....leaving it up to Choice and others.
Hence the ups and downs...good coaches get the best out of their players...not medicority. They give it to him beacuse that is how he coaches. It is very sad, and cannot be fixed.

Message: I forsee this conversation taking place on November 2nd, after the VA TECH game:

Hi Chan, this is Frank. Yes, it was a good game. Those Varsity Chili Dogs are great. Hey, are you familiar with the endzone? It's okay to have one of your players take the ball into the endzone to score. Seriously! This isn't soccer-- you don't kick ALL the time to score in football. Oh- and it's okay for the receivers to CATCH the ball, again, unlike soccer. Hope this helps and sorry for the loss to Army!

Message: I'm tired of watching my team win big games and then embarrass themselves the following week against an inferior team. The offense lacks imagination and will never succeed under Chan G. He's got to go!

Message: What do we need to do to get rid of a coach who has a 57% won/loss record? Enough is enough! We must as fans get this person out of the program and if the AD is willing to tolerate this coach and his play calling as well as team motivation, he needs to go as well.

Message: You can risk a short slant or screen pass that could gain you at least 5 or so yards to make things a little better (or maybe a more creative running play than a draw or a direct snap to Choice)! You are however right the holding is ridiculous. Bad coaching for sure.

Message: Someone... coach the O'Line to stop HOLDING! Good God! There was no other option BUT to do a running play at 3rd and 20! Can't risk an interception. But the holding on 2nd and 3rd downs is the problem! That's what's getting us in the 3rd and 20 situation.

Message: "The odds of making it to any kind of championship game with three losses are pretty long, if not out of the question," Gailey said.

Someone needs to send him back to math class. UVA and Maryland would have to lose 4 ACC games, All the other teams in the division 3 games (including to us).

The only place he deserves to go is the dumbass bowl.
